Volunteer with Us

It will be with the help of local community volunteers and companies that The Miracle League of Fond du lac will be able to operate on a weekly basis. Our volunteers make it happen.  If you are interested in volunteering for the Miracle League, we will have many options both on and off of the field, once construction is completed. You won’t be sorry that you volunteered.

To volunteer as a group, please contact our office either by phone (920) 924-3020 or by email miracleleaguefdl@brooke.org

The following opportunities will need volunteers:

Buddy System

Buddies are paired with a player for every game and help to keep the player safe, bat, run the bases and encourage the player with energy and enthusiasm.

Coaching Opportunities

Both head coaches and assistant coaches will be needed and the most important qualifications are dedication, enthusiasm and compassion.

Game Announcers

Announcers introduce the players and commentate throughout the game to make the game-day experience extra special for the players and fans.

Game Day Assistants

Assistants help with all the jobs that make the game day go smoothly. This can consist of but is not limited to registering player and teams, selling refreshments, and orienting players and fans with the facility.

Umpires

Umpires determine if a tee is needed or if the player wants to be pitched to. Be as animated as possible to enhance the game.

  • Waiving players home or encouraging extra bases is great!
  • Calling a player SAFE, or shouting FOUL BALL is encouraged when appropriate.

Team Parents

Team Parents help players get in batting order, put on and take off protective gear, pass out snacks, and help out in the dugout.

Off the Field Volunteers

These opportunities may include but are not limited to helping with season parties, helping with special event days, helping at community events, and fundraising activities.

The Miracle League uses Youth and Adult Volunteers.  Our Youth Volunteers must be from 12 to 17 years old.  Our Adult Volunteers are 18 years old and older. Ages are based on the volunteer’s age as of May 1.  Enthusiasm and compassion are the prerequisites. By giving only a few hours of your time, not only will you make a difference in the life of a player with special needs, but you will also grow as a person.

 REQUIREMENTS:

  • Buddies must be at least 12 years old.
  • IMPORTANT– Adult Volunteers will need to undergo a background check for safety reasons and to abide by the law.
  • All Youth Volunteers must have a Minor Release from signed by a parent/guardian.

Volunteer forms will be available soon. In the meantime, fill out the form under the “contact us” tab  or email us at: miracleleaguefdl@brooke.org

We thank you for your interest in becoming a volunteer to support the many needs of our Miracle League program and the individuals we serve.
